Having completed a full year together, the East Anglia committee have a fantastic evening planned for their first event of the year. Having a new committee form in 2024 has meant more regular engagement for the region and they plan to continue this into 2025 with plenty of event ideas ahead. This is event is kindly being sponsored by Sewall Reservoir Construction Ltd with Nick Brown, Vice Chair of the region giving us a small talk covering insight into the business. We also have two fantastic speakers arranged for this evening, parking will be a short walk away from the hotel at the local Cambridge train station.

This event is open all members and non-members that wish to attend!

Lucy Fisher is an accomplished Operations Director at Idverde with over 20 years of experience in the operational management of green spaces. Starting her career as an apprentice in Regent's Park, Lucy has risen through the ranks to oversee prestigious contracts, including the Royal Parks. With a career rooted in progressive leadership, she is passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders and is increasingly focused on establishing structured opportunities for professional growth. Lucy's academic achievements include an Executive MBA from Henley Business School and an MSc in Sustainability from Cranfield University.

Greg Packman

Greg is an arboricultural officer working for The Royal Parks in London; covering the tree management of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James's Park, Green Park, Brompton Cemetery and Downing Street. His work covers a range of arboricultural issues such as tree health, tree population management, pest and disease management, risk management amongst other responsibilities. He has previously been involved with the tree management of organisations such as the London Borough of Islington, City of London, Epping Forest, Inner & Middle Temple Gardens, Alexandra Palace & Dulwich Estates.

Outside of his full-time job, Greg spends a lot of time working with the public to help them learn more about and engage more with trees. This work is publicised through his website https://www.gregtalkstrees.com and delivers tree education through organisations such as The Royal Parks, Chelsea Physic Garden, South London Botanic Institute, and many more. Greg was part of Pro Landscapers '30 Under 30' award in 2018 and 'Young Professional of the Year' Award winner for the Arboricultural Association in 2022.

Greg's talk will look at the trees of the Royal Parks; looking at the tree populations, which species are more common in which park, trees of importance or special significance and part of the landscape histories. We'll also look at the tree management issues facing the Royal Parks trees, pest and disease issues, future tree planting plans and some of the day-to-day works.
