Projects
Riverside Boardwalk
Bawden Managed Landscapes have completed the installation of a new boardwalk for Amesbury Town Council. The area where the boardwalk was required is prone to flooding during the winter months, the Council were looking for a solution enabling the river side walk to be enjoyed by the residents of Amesbury even though the ground was under water. Bawden worked with Hahn Plastics Ltd who designed a raised walkway that would meet the needs of the Council this was completed early in 2015. Bawden also had to commision a survey into the activities of water voles to ensure that the works would not disturb their habitat. In July 2016 Hahn had completed the manufacturing process and the boardwalk was delivered to Bawden ready for assembly. Construction was completed over a two week period, by the Fencing Essentials team (Bawden's fencing division www.fencingessentials.co.uk ) and the new boardwalk was handed over to the Council in September. The new walkway has been well received by the residents of Amesbury and is well used, especially by fishermen and dog walkers. It is a considerable improvement on the old rustic structure it replaced, walks along the riverbank are now a much safer and drier experience. Bawden together with Hahn Plastics Ltd have been commisioned to install a new bridge nearby again constructed from re-cycled plastic.
