Brentford - Ballymore
A podium garden was created on the 2nd floor, characterised by mounded planting beds. Native plants were utilised alongside Ilex hedging screens, which were positioned near the terraces. Ornamental trees were placed in the central areas, while an irrigation system was installed in all beds. Executing this project posed logistical challenges as the tower crane was not always accessible. To overcome this, we combined the use of machinery and mobile cranes, necessitating close collaboration with the site team for coordinated deliveries and works.
NESC Remembrance Garden
The project involved the construction of a new garden of remembrance and surrounding area improvements. Notably, the site's sensitive nature required us to conduct our work with great care, as the chapel remained open throughout the duration of the construction. Particular attention was given to coordinating deliveries around funerals and the site's restrictive nature. The project's scope included the installation of specialist foundation/edging to house and support memorial stones/urns, and an ornamental water fountain. We are thrilled to report that the finished product is a beautiful memorial garden.
High Street Quarter - Hounslow
Barratt Hounslow High Street Quarter, an impressive residential development, aimed to revitalise the surrounding vicinity. Our scope of work included the installation of soft landscaping, bespoke steel planters, resin-bound gravel paths, and play areas. Given that most of the installation had to be done on roofs and podiums, the coordination of the project was challenging. To facilitate work on the main podium, a spider crane was lifted onto the deck to distribute materials around the podium. The outcome was a remarkable green public space for the residents to enjoy.
Hendon Waterside
The Hendon Waterside is a large-scale regeneration project situated in West Hendon, offering a diverse range of housing options, including one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. The project features gated internal courtyards, roof terraces, and public green spaces designed and installed by Kingston Landscape Group. The courtyards are adorned with high-quality turf, stepping stones, and play equipment, complemented by mature planting and tree stock throughout the area. The modern street furniture installed in these courtyards includes seating arrangements and raised powder-coated steel planters.
Streatham Hill
Streatham Hill, a gated residential development located in the southwestern region of London, boasts a communal courtyard garden that is beautifully landscaped. At the March 2019 event, Kingston Landscape Group was honored with three APL awards, including the prestigious Supreme Winner accolade. The judges praised the project's innovative use of planters, Corten steel, and soft landscaping, which created an inviting space that felt like a collection of smaller gardens. The development also garnered a BALI award in December 2018.
Priory SENS School, Norwood
KLG worked closely with Bouygues to ensure all elements of landscaping on this project were delivered on budget and on time on this complex landscaping project. Works were many and varied and included shrub and tree planting, turfing, importation of specialist soils, and ecological enhancements. Specialist parts of the project included the installation of 125 metres of individually cut, hardwood sleeper retaining walls at a variety of heights and radii, giving gentle curves to match surrounding contours. We also employed a specialist contractor to construct 300 metres of living willow fence
Kew Bridge
Kingston Landscape Group installed landscaping of the highest quality for this hugely impressive development overlooking the River Thames and Kew Gardens beyond. The development contains a series of apartment blocks situated around a riverside Piazza with two large water features and vistas across the river, as well as podium courtyard gardens and skyline roof terraces. Along the riverside, we installed species specially selected to be tolerant of flooding as these areas become inundated on spring tides. In contrast the podium gardens have bespoke irrigation systems to maintain the parterre gardens which are a feature of this development. There was a strong structural element to the planting, including buxus hedges clipped into waves and large topiarized holm oaks. There was also a distinct "Italianate" feel to the container planting with a myriad of shaped bay trees and unusual full standard clipped bays sourced by our team from the Tuscan countryside. We also planted huge London Plane trees along the road, as well as raised granite planters filled with mature shrubbery and herbaceous planting. Since completion on the project, we have returned on a regular basis so to maintain the landscaping in perfect order.
