Wilmslow Park Student Accommodation Campus
We were the appointed as Landscape Contractor for Urban Green Landscape Architecture, based in Manchester. We were awarded 3 student campus environmental enhancement schemes, designed by Urban Green for the Vero Group. These comprised the construction of leisure areas for students to use and included planting, hard and soft landscape construction and a selection of leisure equipment. The construction of a series of outdoor seating/activity areas presented us with a materials palette including coloured recycled plastic decking, astro-turf and resinbound stone surfacing. The design and layout provides a selection of informal seating areas for chilling out, study and chat! The coloured plastic decking gives a different range of coloured surfaces that are light and pastel in shades. Our resin bound surfacing, installed by Resibond Ltd, part of the Landscape Engineering Ltd group, gives a clean and attractive surface that helps the space appear light and airy.
St Catherines Memorial, Lostock Hall
St Catherines Memorial, Lostock Hall Client: South Ribble Borough Council Value: £99,000 We were honoured to be awarded this build by South Ribble Council. The strong design, of huge scale, has created a permanent feature on a key gateway roundabout and carriageway. The design, based on the first world war battlefields gave us something unique to build. It is truly an eye-catching piece build by DP Structures of Burnley. Fabricated in "corten steel" the sculpture is of a scale and size not to be missed. The "trenches" feature with its oak sleepers and sandbags with gabions form a backdrop to complement the sculpture theme. The sculptured memorial forms a gateway to the memorial garden which is linked to a series of footpaths and a river crossing that forms a country park/local green space.
Tolson Museum, Huddersfield
Client: Kirklees Council Value: 60,000 The Tolson Museum is housed in Ravensknowle, a Victorian mansion in Knowle Park on Wakefield Road in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. The museum garden layout included bound gravel pathways and coarsed stone walling with associated shrub beds and green space.
