Quote:
"The photos are all taken in the summer, when it’s obvious that this is a lovely garden to enjoy. It’s easy to imagine sitting in this garden, relaxing while the birds, bees, butterflies go about their busy day. But this is a garden that also looks amazing in winter, when we have subtle lights that add a special touch of magic so the outside ‘picture’ can be enjoyed any time of day or night."
Work undertaken by Oxford Garden Design & Maintenance:
The garden was a large, completely blank canvas. It was a field on a slope in which the previous owners had kept sheep. The design was designed to be harmonious with the surrounding countryside but also with the property, which contains a cottage adjacent to the main house. We wanted a large area for entertaining family and friends, for cooking, playing table tennis and generally relaxing. There are several seating areas in the garden, but the main area we use is outside the French windows, where Jakub constructed a very large, curved retaining wall with steps leading up to the top, formal lawn. The rest of the garden has been planted largely with fruit trees there is a very productive vegetable patch, which has been enclosed with rabbit netting. An acre of land has been left as a wildflower area and is as natural as possible to attract wildlife, which we have in abundance!
Reason for choosing Oxford Garden Design & Maintenance:
Directors' garden.
