4th Corner employees pass plan reading skills test

Accredited Contractor, 4th Corner Landscaping and their Soft Landscaping Operations Leader, Nick Oliver, and Team Leader, Billy Braggins, completed their Plan Reading and Measuring Skills Test at the Colin Sanders Innovation Centre.

The aim of this training was to enhance their plan reading skills and provide additional training on plan measuring. In turn, this will help 4th Corner to continue with work if more senior staff are not available.

Giorgo Daniel designed and presented the skills test to Nick and Billy, aiming to help them to understand the technical processes involved in turfing and shrub planting.

Nick stated: 

“It was good to understand in more detail how we measure certain areas on development to ensure that we order the correct amount of stock for them. Giorgo is a great teacher and he ensured that we understood all aspects before completing the tasks. He was very informative, knowledgeable and patient. I finally feel more confident in this area, and it gave me a better understanding of the process involved.”

Billy and Nick are now confident in their plan reading and measuring skills and will be able to implement these in day-to-day tasks. Successful completion of the skills test has led to compensating him with a salary increase.
