BALI gearing up for a busy autumn show season
Following a quieter summer period, the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) is preparing for a busy autumn schedule, exhibiting at five major industry trade shows and hosting five BALI regional events up and down the UK. Below, we highlight each event in date order so you can easily pop them in your diary. With more events to be announced, there's never been a better time to be a member of the leading trade association for landscape professionals.

FutureScape Scotland 2018 BALI Stand 23 - 6 September 2018
Previously ScotHort, Eljays44 have updated the show format and renamed the event, FutureScape Scotland, bringing it more in line with its popular Surrey-based FutureScape event in November. BALI is exhibiting at FutureScape Scotland, alongside over 40 other exhibitors. BALI will be on stand 23 and is looking forward to meeting its Scottish members, promoting the benefits of membership and representing the trade association at the Royal Highland Centre this September. At 2pm, BALI's Chief Executive Wayne Grills will be presenting 'GoLandscape, Addressing the skills gap' in Theatre Room 1, which will focus on the widening skills gap in the landscape industry, which has resulted in organisations finding it increasingly difficult to source employees with the right skills. BALI’s GoLandscape initiative aims to tackle this by targeting GCSE stage pupils and career changers, encouraging them to consider a career in landscaping and challenge the poor and false perception that is held of the industry by promoting the wide range and exciting career choices there are available. Alongside this is a drive to support colleges and pupils already studying towards a landscape qualification and help produce work-ready GoLandscape candidates with the right skill set. Those in attendance will also be the first to see the brand new GoLandscape website.
BALI Annual General Meeting 2018 at BALI Landscape House - 11 September 2018

Following the formal proceedings, BALI's Chief Executive Wayne Grills will give a short presentation and will seek the opinion of members to ensure the association continues to meet members’ expectations. This will be followed by a complimentary buffet lunch. Between 1.30pm and 3.00pm, there will be a further presentation on Plant Health and Biosecurity, including new requirements and regulations by Richard McIntosh, Assistant Chief Plant Health Officer at Defra which should be both informative and interesting.
