BALI members can apply to become Ofqual External Experts

13 Sep 2018 | BALI Member News

Ofqual, the qualifications regulator, is currently seeking expertise from across the horticulture sector.

Qualifications and training are changing, so that they are increasingly preparing young people for work and enabling people of all ages and levels to gain the knowledge and skills employers say they need. To play our part in these reforms, Ofqual wants to ensure that we are able to draw on specialist industry insights and knowledge. That’s where BALI and its members come in.

Ofqual are now looking for external experts – people who are specialists in their industry or sector, that are able to work with Ofqual, to provide specialist insight into their sector or industry.

External experts work with us in a variety of ways, including reviewing and commenting on the subject content of qualifications and providing opinion on whether the right things are being assessed in a consistent way. They draw on external experts' knowledge on an ad-hoc basis, and as independent contractors, Ofqual pays them for the work they do for us.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are offered assignments to gain insights into qualification development, learn more about training and assessment in the horticulture sector, as well as assessment methods and practices.

You can find out more about becoming an external expert via the Ofqual website here, or through the attachment below:
