BALI Past Chairman John O'Conner passes away

BALI’s team at Landscape House received some incredibly sad news on 24th March 2020. BALI’s Past Chairman, John O’Conner, former managing director of John O’Conner Grounds Maintenance, passed away at Lister Hospital in Hertfordshire, following a short illness. John started his business in 1969 and was at the helm for over 50 years, imparting his strong principles and values which remain a core part of the family business today.

John was Chairman of the British Association of Landscape Industries between 2006 and 2008 and in that time he shaped and defined the association we see today with an overall sense of passion and determination which helped drive the business forward. Either side of his tenure as Chairman, John was a regular face at many BALI regional events and meetings, including the annual National Annual General Meeting, supporting BALI with his valuable opinions. John will be missed by so many in the industry and the BALI Board of Directors and the team at Landscape House would like to extend their heartfelt sympathies to John’s son Matt O’Conner, current BALI National Chairman, and his family during this very difficult time.
