BALI's GoLandscape ramps up campaign activity in schools
BALI's GoLandscape initiative, which launched nationally at RHS Garden Wisley in March 2018, is beginning to ramp up its campaign activities in schools around the country.
GoLandscape Ambassadors, David Dodd of BALI Registered member The Outdoor Room and Tecwyn Evans of BALI Registered member Living Landscapes, hosted a stand at the Crawley Careers fair last month, where they successfully promoted GoLandscape and the career opportunities within the landscape industry to a range of people, including 11-15-year-old students, school leavers, parents and teachers. Genuine interest was shown by a number of pupils that hadn’t considered a career in the industry previously and many left feeling inspired that there were opportunities for work at all levels.
Similarly, Nigel Bowcock, Managing Director of BALI Registered member Acre Landscapes, was in attendance at Durrington High School, exhibiting GoLandscape at their popular careers evening and promoting landscaping to Year 11 students and their parents, including the benefits and opportunities the industry presents.
BALI's very own Education Officer, Stephen Ensell, visited Avon Valley School and Performing Arts College’s careers fair in Rugby over the summer, interacting with around 50 pupils and discussing the many roles available in the landscape industry. Widely known for its creativity, pupils from the school showed a tremendous amount of interest towards the creative aspects of landscape construction and garden design which was encouraging to see.
