BALI & SGD team up for LANDSCAPE Show designer seminar

05 Jun 2018 | BALI Member News

With the LANDSCAPE Show returning this September, BALI will not only be exhibiting on stand A21 but will also be hosting its first joint seminar with the Society of Garden Designers.

The seminar, to be held on Tuesday 18 September at 1pm, is titled ‘BALI & SGD’s Guide to Setting up a Design Practice’ and features an all-star line-up of panellists including BALI Designer Board Directors Marian Boswall MBALI MSGD pf Marian Boswall Landscape Architects and Garden Designers & Rosemary Coldstream MBALI MSGD of Rosemary Coldstream Garden Design, alongside John Wyer MBALI CMLI FSGD of BALI Registered Contractor Bowles and Wyer, Emma Mazzullo CMLI MSGD of Mazzullo & Russell Landscape Design and Chair of the SGD Sarah Morgan MSGD MCIHort.

Following BALI’s sold-out designer focused webinar which was held earlier this year, BALI decided to reach out to the SGD to see if they would agree to hosting a re-run of the event, this time, via a live panel discussion at LANDSCAPE in September.

Maybe you have just completed your degree or you have decided to go it alone? Perhaps you are wondering what you need to do next? What is involved in setting up a design practice? What are the benefits of being a sole trader, limited company, or partnership? What are the legal and professional requirements and how best do you win work?

Our panel of successful designers, business owners and industry professionals will discuss their routes to practice: the practicalities, pitfalls and tips for success. With opportunities to ask questions from the comfort of your own computer, this is a great opportunity to hear it from those who have trodden the path and learned from mistakes and mentors along the way.

BALI members who have not exhibited at LANDSCAPE before can gain access to a special discount of £200 psqm for the first 9 metres booked. Returning members can still request a 10% discount off their total stand booking. If you would like to enquire about taking a stand at this year's event, please visit the LANDSCAPE website here.
