BALI website updated to reflect latest OPM guidance

30 Oct 2024 | Technical News

The BALI website has now been updated to reflect the latest guidance and information regarding oak processionary moth (OPM) issued by Defra.

Measures introduced by Defra in 2023 seek to reduce the spread of OPM in the UK, which continues to spread northwards from London and Surrey towards Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Success of the measures relies on the landscape industry conforming with basic rules. These can be challenging to interpret, particularly if oak trees will be transported distances between suppliers and clients premises.

The Association has worked closely with Defra to provide simple, step-by-step guidance on the BALI website, to help members understand their obligations. In addition to the latest Defra guidance and information, the Association has provided tools to help members interpret the zones.
