BALI will communicate with members regarding GDPR
The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) is preparing to communicate with its members about what it plans to do with its member's data in light of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into force on 25 May 2018.
The default contact on BALI's member database system for each organisation will be sent an email before the 25 May 2018 detailing what the association intends to do to protect its members' data, as well as sharing its updated privacy policy and requesting that members utilise the new preference centre, which enables individuals in any member organisation to opt-in or opt-out of e-communications, including BALI's fortnightly news and events mailshots and monthly technical update. This also includes any printed material such as Landscape News and BALI's Who's Who Landscape Directory. Members will now be able to decide whether they wish to receive a free copy of each.
BALI's Marketing and Communications Manager, Darren Taylor and Technical Officer (Policy & Research) Owen Baker, are working with a consultant to ensure that BALI continues to within the new laws.
