After a 400-year absence, beavers are once again shaping the landscape of Shropshire. Accredited Contractors, ATM Ltd played a key role in the release of a bonded pair of Eurasian beavers into a secure enclosure at Shrewsbury, marking a milestone for local conservation.

A Project Rooted in Collaboration

The reintroduction was a joint effort with Shrewsbury Town Council and the Beaver Trust, combining industry expertise and careful planning to create a safe and sustainable habitat.

Our Contributions to the Habitat:

  • 730 metres of standard dry fencing
  • 500 metres of badger-enhanced dry fencing
  • 500 metres of Eastern path improvements
  • 40 metres of pedestrian-proof fencing
  • 5 pedestrian gates and 3 badger passes
  • 280 metres of wet fencing
  • 280 metres of boardwalk for public enjoyment

Why Beavers Matter

Beavers are nature’s engineers, helping reduce flood risks and support biodiversity by creating wetlands that benefit numerous species. Their return is a significant step towards restoring natural ecosystems in the area.

This project highlights the power of collaboration and sustainable practices. ATM Ltd is proud to have contributed to a landmark initiative that will leave a lasting legacy for Shropshire’s wildlife and community.
