GoLandscape team at full strength
The Association is delighted to introduce Cheryl Ranner as the new Skills and Careers Officer. Cheryl moves over from the ROLO team and will have a particular responsibility for GoLandscape. Cheryl and Jonathan will work closely as we take forward GoLandscape into 2024.
With the team at full strength, there will be a drive to revitalise and support the Ambassador network, attend more skills and careers events across the country and work towards a relaunch of the GoLandscape website with new content and branding.
Jonathan Pettit, Landscape Skills and Careers Manager said:
"I’m delighted that we are now up to full strength. I’m looking forward to working with Cheryl, our Ambassadors and the wider landscaping industry further promoting careers in the sector in what promises to be an exciting year for GoLandscape!"
Over the last few weeks, the team have been busy getting out to shows and events across the country. In October GoLandscape attended the Royal Parks Guild Apprenticeships Day held at Hampton Court Palace, giving a talk to Capel Manor’s Horticulture students. The team have also attended the Sustainability Careers Fair at the London Stadium, visited Lackham College and were in Cheltenham for Bournside School’s Careers Event.
A-level update
Earlier this year, the Association reported on the recent update to post-GCSE qualifications in the landscaping industry with new a level equivalent - T-levels. Equivalent to three A-levels, T-levels will aim to become one of the main choices for students after GCSEs, alongside apprenticeships, A-levels and other A-level equivalents.
