Hy-Tex UK unveil their newest product Ecofender™

In February, Accredited Supplier Hy-Tex UK, proudly announced the newest product in their wildlife protection range - Ecofender™ Bio - the world’s first fully biodegradable newt fencing.

The plant-based biopolymer sheets are used to temporarily exclude, or contain, newts, frogs, snakes and small wildlife - protecting them from entering hazardous areas such as construction sites.

It is an unfortunate reality that conventional plastic temporary newt fencing material can be a major contributor to microplastics on construction sites. It is evident that on many sites temporary newt fences are not properly maintained or removed, leading to them crumbling and polluting the local environment. Considering this concerning trend, back in 2022 Hy-Tex UK’s director David Poole felt compelled to change this and proceeded to create an environmentally friendly solution to introduce to the market.

David Poole reflected:

He continued,

With the addition of Ecofender™ Bio Newt Fences, it extends the rising number of fully biodegradable products that Hy-Tex UK have available. Providing these types of solutions has seen a significant rise in popularity of Hy-Tex UK’s Eco-Haven™ Tree Guards and Ecotex 100 Tree Mats in particular. Hy-Tex UK also has more biodegradable products currently in development which they hope to release in the future.
