Idverde celebrates another record-breaking year
Green space management company and BALI Registered Contractor Idverde now maintains 122 Green Flags on behalf of its clients, including 9 new wins for 2018.
The Green Flag, which recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces and sets the standard for their management, now flies over a total of 122 of the parks and green spaces idverde maintains.
A staggering 29 of these sites are in the London Borough of Southwark, which can now claim the second highest number of Green Flags held by a London Authority, and the third highest for a local authority in England – fantastic news for all those who live in and visit the borough.
2018 also sees Green Flags awarded for the first time at nine sites maintained by idverde:
- Biggin Hill Recreation Ground (London Borough of Bromley)
- Chislehurst and St Pauls Cray Commons (London Borough of Bromley)
- Queens Gardens (London Borough of Bromley)
- William Parnell Park (London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham)
- Marcus Garvey Park (London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham)
- Abbey Recreation Ground (London Borough of Merton)
- Tanner Street Park (London Borough of Southwark)
- Collett Park (Shepton Mallet Town Council)
- Muscliff Park (Bournemouth Borough Council)
idverde’s Head of Greenspace Development, Andrew Kauffman, said:
“We are extremely proud to maintain 122 of the country’s best parks and green spaces, and pleased to help bring a further nine sites up to the standard this year, working with our clients and stakeholder groups across the country."
“idverde will continue to support the Green Flag Awards process with clients, and work closely with them and local stakeholders to see the number of Green Flags increase so that more people can enjoy the benefits of high quality green spaces. Quality green spaces are a vital resource for communities, and that is why it is so important that we continue to use this quality standard to ensure that parks, open spaces, commons, and country parks continue to provide for the local communities that use and love them.”
Commenting on this year’s Green Flag results, International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said:
“It has been a record-breaking year for Green Flag Awards, and it’s fantastic to see such a diverse range of locations have been recognised. We are proud to have so many wonderful green spaces in the UK for people to experience, and encourage the public to head outdoors, explore their local area and find even more unexpected green spaces they can enjoy.”
