IFATE to review industry-standard apprenticeships
BALI members are encouraged to provide their input into a review conducted by The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IFATE) who recently opened a Route Review into the Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care training pathways, which includes most of the horticultural, landscape, arboricultural and sports turf activity for Apprenticeships and T Levels.
The Occupational Map outlines occupations in the industry which are used to shape Apprenticeship Standards and T Level Occupational Specialisms. It is what dictates government-based training which will be available to learners in our industry, and is therefore of significant importance. It provides us with an opportunity to ensure that the industry is correctly represented and resourced with training from levels 2 to 7. Individual Apprenticeship Standards in our sector will also be reviewed to ensure they meet the needs of employers and apprentices.
Within the horticultural industry, concerns have been raised about the content of the Occupational Map, so this is a chance to feed in and BALI actively encourages its members to do so.
The consultation runs from the 9 October to the 4 December 2019 and can be accessed here:
