Industry update on Highways England Common Induction

Following a recent meeting with Highways England Passport Project Lead, Angelica Rice, the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) has received a new update on the Highways England Common Induction Course from Lantra. Angelica has asked for the following information to be widely shared with the industry:

• Highways England have reviewed the results of the ‘proof of concept’ and intend to continue with the Passport Scheme
  The current HECI Course remains valid and can be used until replaced with an online solution
  HECI certificates will remain valid for their full term

Highways England have further advised Lantra that:

• Highways England will now invest in an online solution, which is expected next year
• Once an online solution has been developed, Lantra will not be required to continue providing the quality assurance framework for delivery of their HECI course
