Jumpers and mud help TCL raise cash for charity

Staff at a green services company based in Little Eaton have raised just over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support through a range of activities over the year.

The most recent fund-raising spree saw members of BALI Registered Contractor TCL Group's head office team wear hideous festive sweaters for Christmas Jumper Day.

Other events over the past 12 months included raffling hanging baskets, selling cakes, hosting a quiz and running for several miles through mud.

The fun was organised by individuals who work for the company's civic floral display arm, Plantscape, and colleagues in the admin department who support the group's other businesses scattered across the UK.

The Christmas Jumper Day event saw Plantscape sales executive Alan McGregor win the best jumper competition, with awards also being dished out for a variety of random attributes including best drink spiller, smelliest dinner and shiniest shoes! 

Back in the autumn, an intrepid 11-strong team took part in what is described as ‘The UK's best mud run and obstacle race' to add to the Macmillan coffers.

The gruelling and extreme X-Runner event consisted of 5km laps made up of 34 obstacles and mud runs in Brailsford near Ashbourne.
