Location Landscapes celebrates a decade of success
The Association spoke with Charles Blumlein, Director of Accredited Contractor, Location Landscapes after celebrating their 10-year anniversary.
Location Landscapes has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Founded with just three directors, the company now boasts a team of 23 dedicated employees who have played a pivotal role in its remarkable growth. Over the years, Location Landscapes has moved offices twice, ultimately settling into a spacious farm location. During the earlier stages of the business, Charles made the move to go all-electric - embracing eco-friendly practices by transitioning to battery-operated equipment, prioritising client feedback, and reducing noise and environmental impact.
Charles spoke about the company's unwavering dedication to quality workmanship has secured them substantial contracts – bringing them much success over the years.
Charles said:
“Location Landscapes stands out due to our customer service, we don’t do any advertising and every job must be of the best standard. Word of mouth over the years has brought us bigger contracts and has got us to where we are today”.
Charles Blumein's engagement with industry associations, such as BALI, has facilitated valuable networking opportunities and partnerships that have contributed to the company's growth and success. Charles highlighted his earliest memory of BALI was meeting Brian Herbert after attending a regional event in 2014. They then collaborated with esteemed garden designer, Charlotte Rowe.
Other notable achievements include their involvement in prestigious projects like RHS Chelsea working on Gold Medal winning garden - A letter from Million Years Past, designed by Jihae Hwang in 2023 to ongoing collaborations with their clients.

Charles continued:
“We’re proud of the domestic garden contracts that we have worked on, and we have continued to work with these clients for many years maintaining their gardens.”
Charles emphasised the significance of investing in your landscaping business to ensure its success. For those who aspire to enter the landscaping industry and establish their own company. As Charles rightly advises, investing in professionalism, quality, and safety is the cornerstone of success in the landscaping industry, setting one apart from the competition. When asked what advice he would give to new entrepreneurs he said:
“Always put value into your staff and try and use the best health and safety practices and use the best equipment you can. Be disciplined in standards and time–keeping and treating people how you would want to be treated.”
