Maylim announce principal contract at Wilton Park
Accredited Contractor and BALI's 2022 Grand Award winner, Maylim is delighted to announce its involvement at Wilton Park, IPUT’s landmark development in Dublin The commencement of this exciting restoration project marks Maylim’s inaugural venture into Ireland’s vibrant city.
Once complete, the scheme will welcome approximately 5,000 people living and working within the 60,000 sq ft development. The new neighbourhood reimagines the area, placing community, culture and sustainability at the forefront.
In addition to office space, Wilton Park will be a hub of activity, offering places to eat, drink, shop and socialise. The project encompasses the creation of a new public square, a series of roof gardens, and the restoration of the one-acre park. Implementing IPUT’s Making Place research and working with Townshend Landscape Architects, Maylim aims to shape a vibrant and diverse landscape, showcasing excellence in design and placemaking.
The team has been on site since the park’s closure in May this year and is carrying out an extensive upgrade to the area. The lawned areas will undergo a renewal process that includes the implementation of improved drainage, enhanced soil quality, and re-turfing. A wide variety of mature shrubs and herbaceous plants will be integrated into the park promoting biodiversity and year-round visual interest. New seating areas will also be introduced along the reconstructed footpaths, providing visitors ample opportunities to relax and enjoy the new surroundings. Furthermore, the team will restore the original fountain to full working order.
The completion of Wilton Park is due in Spring 2024.
