The British Association of Landscape Industries, the leading Trade Association for landscape professionals in the UK, has an exciting opportunity for a New Business Development Officer to join the team on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established Membership Body, flourish within a standalone role with fantastic sales opportunities and would suit someone who is self-motivated with service-selling experience.
Please note that this is a hybrid-working role with 1 day a week working-from-home and the remainder working in the office.
Business Development Officer main responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and monitor new business campaigns and sales strategies.
- Set and achieve monthly/quarterly targets for the number of new contacts to be made and prospects converted into new members.
- Liaise with the Membership Officer/s regarding member feedback and on-going member relationships.
- Assist with trade and public shows including exhibitions with some occasional nights away from home (if the show/exhibition is over 2 days).
- Identify and validate new prospects as well as influencing potential prospects by promoting the company’s products and services.
- Phoning and/or visiting prospects in order to successfully win their business.
- Discuss and report sales and marketing intelligence at regular internal team meetings.
- Supply analytical sales/retention reports to the Operations Manager monthly.
- Conduct face to face meetings with potential new and existing members to ensure product and service is reviewed and improved.
- Accurately monitor, review and report on competitor sales strategy and activity.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience within a sales role in a B2B & B2C market.
- Previous experience in a role with service-selling is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to achieve targets on a consistent basis.
- IT literate.
- Self-motivated with excellent organisation skills.
- Ability to work to set deadlines and prioritise own workload efficiently.
- An interest or prior knowledge of the Landscaping industry is desirable, however not essential.
