Protecting Our Industry from Skin Cancer – Have Your Say!
Skin cancer is a growing concern for those working outdoors, and with over 17,000 cases of melanoma reported in the UK each year, raising awareness has never been more important. That’s why the Chartered Institute of Horticulture (CIH), in partnership with Melanoma Focus, is launching a campaign this May during Melanoma Awareness Month to promote sun safety across the industry.
To kick-start the initiative, CIH has launched a survey to understand current attitudes toward sun protection and skin cancer awareness among horticulturists, landscapers, and other outdoor workers. The findings will help shape future guidance and industry-wide best practices for staying safe in the sun.
BALI is proud to support this campaign and urges all members to take part in the survey. Your input is invaluable in helping to drive change and ensure that sun safety becomes a standard part of working practices across the sector.
