Provender Nurseries makes leap year donation to Perennial

To celebrate the leap, Accredited Supplier, Provender Nurseries decided to donate 10% of takings at the nursery taken on 29th February to Perennial with ‘make a day make a difference’.

The resulting sum of sales on 29th February of £1600 has now been donated to Perennial. 

Richard McKenna, Director of Provender Nurseries says:

"Leap year comes around every four years and we thought it was a simple but great way to celebrate an extra day and raise awareness of Perennial, the only charity dedicated to providing support to all people working in the many varied fields of horticulture."    

We are delighted to be able to support Perennial and we enjoy working with them in many guises, through fundraising to having representatives on-site giving talks to our team members.’  

Kate Cooney, speaking on behalf of Perennial, expressed profound gratitude towards Provender Nurseries, highlighting their longstanding partnership and unwavering support. She emphasized how Provender's commitment has significantly contributed to spreading awareness about Perennial's mission and raising crucial funds to sustain their initiatives.

Kate expressed: 

"Our message is simple, the more support we receive, the more people we can help. In 2023 our services department saw record numbers of people contacting them, due to experiencing an increase in delays in accessing health, social care and housing services and of course the cost-of-living crisis. The support received from Provender is a great example of how the industry can support the charity through fundraising and by finding ways of spreading our message that Perennial is here for all those working with grass, trees, flowers and plants that need our help.”

Provender Nurseries have been Perennial Partners since 2018 and involve Perennial regularly at events held on site to raise awareness across the industry.
