Record £1m turnover for garden design specialist

Accredited Contractor, Armstrong Gardens and Landscapes, a distinguished garden design and build specialist headquartered in Edinburgh, has successfully rebounded from the challenges posed by the pandemic, demonstrating a remarkable achievement with a record-breaking turnover exceeding £1 million.

In the firm's most recent financial report, covering the period ending on July 30, 2022, the documented turnover amounted to an impressive £1.2 million, surpassing the previous figure of £580,000 by more than double. This significant improvement in performance not only allowed the company to surpass the seven-figure milestone for the first time since its establishment in 2019 but enabled it to recuperate from a loss of £60,000 incurred during the preceding 12 months, resulting in a break-even outcome.

Due to their success, the company increased its employment to 14 throughout the financial year.

Guided by the vision and leadership of founder and managing director Fraser Armstrong, the company now aims to leverage this success and pursue continued growth in the future. He said:

“Like many businesses, it was a very tough time during Covid and we really found it challenging due to the supply chain. We started up in July 2019 and then Covid really got hold. There wasn’t a shortage of demand for work but the problems with the supply of materials really made it tough from an operational perspective. We have grown quite quickly, improving all the time with the help of regular feedback from the staff. We have been successful in winning more prestigious and higher-value contracts and that’s the aim going forward. It’s the beginning of an exciting journey with lots of plans for the business.”
