Scottish Business To Watch 2025
Accredited Supplier, M Squared - Glasgow headquartered commercial landscape and groundworks firm capped off 2024 by achieving a record annual revenue of circa £10m during its 10th year in business.
Over the course of the year, the business has grown to 95 team members, while working on several high-profile contracts across the UK.
Managing director Kerr McEwan also completed the Hunter Foundation’s Scale Up Scotland programme to help supercharge the wider growth plans for the business.
"M Squared is now primed for a period of significant growth, targeting £25m in revenue by 2027 and aiming to grow the team to over 125 members,"
he commented.
"In addition, strategic acquisitions are currently under consideration to expand the business’ UK footprint and further senior hires are expected over the course of the year."
The company has been working in an acquisition strategy with AAB, prioritising deals within the commercial landscape and specialist contractors space - with two opportunities now under consideration in the £2.5m to £10m revenue range.
As with many scaling businesses, recruitment has been a challenge.
"With a nationwide labour shortage, the business will explore unconventional routes to grow the team, while continuing to safeguard the culture which is the foundation to M Squared’s recent success,"
explained McEwan.
