Tim O'Hare Associates welcomes two new soil scientists
Leading landscape and soil consultancy Tim O’Hare Associates (TOHA) based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, has welcomed two new members to its team of soil science specialists. Matthew Lowry from Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, and Aaron Cross from Nottingham, joined the practice in the summer.
Matthew graduated last year from the University of Aberdeen with an MSc in Soil Science, having achieved a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science from the University of Stirling in 2012 and subsequently working for agricultural science company Syngenta. A keen rower and sailor, who has competed at both national and international level, Matthew also finds time to volunteer for the National Trust and RSPB.
Aaron graduated this year with an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Nottingham, following on from his BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of Leeds. During his course he spent a year studying in South Africa, taking the opportunity to travel and to work with under-privileged children in the townships around Cape Town.
Both Matthew and Aaron have joined TOHA as Graduate Soil Scientists and are currently undertaking site work, including soil sampling, surveying and site inspections and monitoring; soil testing; writing and issuing interpretative reports; providing support to TOHA’s established scientists; and liaising with clients.
Commenting on the practice’s newest team members, Tim O’Hare, Principal Consultant at TOHA, said: “We are delighted to have attracted two such high calibre graduates to join the TOHA team. They are both highly professional and have settled in well, demonstrating sound knowledge and real enthusiasm for their particular areas of interest. I look forward to seeing them develop as they work under the expert guidance of our team of specialists.”
