Two distinguished National Awards for The Garden Company

Accredited Contractor James Scott and his team at The Garden Company have been awarded not just one but two prestigious National Landscape Awards. Both of the Awards are based on a residential design-and-build project in Bedfordshire - the first for Design Excellence and the second for Domestic Garden Construction. The property was new-build, with a ‘blank canvas’ at the front and rear of the house. The dream was to transform this into a haven with a warm, naturalistic feel, to be enjoyed by the family and their visitors.

James commented,

"We really appreciate that the Association has recognised both our design creativity and landscaping craftmanship with these Awards. It is wonderful to be rewarded for our hard work and our commitment to creating beautiful bespoke, handcrafted spaces that people love to spend time in. A special thank you to our amazing suppliers and of course our own talented landscapers, who apply their expertise so well and support our clients every step of the way".

Following their close scrutiny of the project, the Judging Panel offered the following comments:

"A lovely space from the entrance through to the rear garden which connects well with the house. This was a very accomplished design-and-build scheme. Highlights were the fire pit area, water feature, glass house, secluded seating area and the clever use of Yorkstone elements illustrating the journey from boulder to slab. The planting complemented the garden with seasonal colour and textural interest, with some great trees adding height and focal points/framing. The construction was very well executed with some great detailing and thoughtful touches, as well as use of recycled/spare materials".

The Garden Company was established in 1991 and has a strong track record of winning National Awards over the years, with judges’ feedback frequently highlighting their teams’ exceptional skills and meticulous attention to detail.
