Looking to reduce your carbon footprint?
BALI’s National AGM returns on Thursday 12 September at BALI Landscape House. Alongside the formal voting section that starts from 10.30am prompt, Chief Executive Wayne Grills will also provide a short update on activities from Landscape House over the past 12 months.
Following the update, BALI is delighted to introduce three specialist guest speakers who will each present for 20 minutes on three subjects; recycling consultancy and reducing waste, manufacturing recyclable plastic containers including black plant pots and biodiversity net gain.
First off, Mike Connors Managing Director of Revoplas Recycling Solutions will focus on unlocking new ways in which plastic can be recycled in the workplace and throughout your business. Whether you’re a landscape contractor, supplier or garden designer, using plastic day-to-day can be a problem and a concern, so this free talk will unveil new ways to help you reduce your carbon footprint.
The second talk will be presented by Shaun Herdsman, Division Manager of Modiform, who will focus on Modiform’s innovative alternative to black plastic pots and why you should take notice if you want to save costs and care for the environment.
Finally, Jason Reeves MCIEEM, Head of Policy and Communications at the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), will be introducing BALI members to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), including the use of metrics and Defra’s planned ‘eco-metric’. Following confirmation from Defra, developers will be required to improve biodiversity by 10% as part of its new net gain requirements so CIEEM will be providing further guidance at the AGM on how your business can achieve this.
