ATM announce book partnership with ‘When I Grow Up'

‘When I Grow Up’ and Accredited Contractor, ATM, is delighted to announce their partnership for 2023, coming together to deliver exciting and meaningful social value for children within local communities across the country.

‘When I Grow Up’ storybooks will be issued to internal ATM staff, and supply chain and will also be used to deliver educational initiatives and social value in the communities in which they work and deliver projects.

This partnership is a step in showing how far and wide the book's reach can be to achieve our aim of inspiring as many children as possible by bringing a contractor with a vast reach and impact into the team. 

When I Grow Up is a children’s storybook, aimed at children aged 4-7, which takes you through the journey of twins Harry and Amy, who are considering their careers as part of their school careers day competition. The story covers a range of engineering activities and demonstrates to the children that without the hard work of those in the construction industry, many other jobs would not be made possible. It is hoped that by inspiring children early they will consider a career in the industry in later life.

The book presents construction beautifully and is a great gift that we can give to children. It has helped us to engage with local schools and the communities in which we work.

If you’d have asked 6-year-old me what I’d be ‘when I grow up’, I’d have said a footballer for Derby County. Sadly, that wasn’t a very realistic aspiration, but I’ve found my place within ATM and it has been an incredibly welcoming, rewarding and satisfying place to be. Children who engage with us when we visit schools can relate to the story and see their future in the construction industry.”
